music box version of ring around the rosy?

hey, soundsman4 here again, back to bug you again. sorry. listen, I wonder if you could help me with something. I’ve been trying to find, of all things, a free downloadable version of the tune ring around the rosy, but done with a music box sound, not in the horror style at all, but in it’s regular cheerful up-beat form. more specifically, of just it going a single time around, as the tune is naturally just a loop, the sort of thing that you could use as a musical stinger or ident for switching from scene to scene, or place to place. if you have any idea just where on earth I could find such a thing for absolutely free, please let me know. as I work on stories that are completely audio, I prefer to use musical scene change elements, rather than those, whoooooooosh, sounds, and unfortunately these are stupidly hard to find, or for free at least. thanks. soundsman4

hey Alan. I mean presumably something like that, there doesn’t seem to be anywhere I can preview the sound to see just what it sounds like, which I must admit is a bit odd.

I’ll try and create this for you…. I don’t currently have a music box style instrument, but I can download something. Leave it with me. If you haven’t heard back within a couple of days, feel free to email me a reminder.

hi again. tell you what. I’ve been able to make a sample as to what I imagine it to sound like, but using the sound from a celesta, so if I e-mail that to you, you can get an idea of how I’d need it to sound with the music box sound. what I did was, I found a site called sounds resource where you can download zip files of sounds people have taken from video games, and in one game called monument vally there are sounds of musical notes, so they took each note as a separate file for each instrument and put them in. the instruments are a balalaika, a celesta, a celtic harp, a regular harp, and a ruan moon, obviously that’s some in game instrument. it’s sort of the same concept as the Zelda games I imagine. so I took the celesta’s samples, and by twisting some of them together I was able to come out with ring around the rosy. I’ll e-mail you that if you like so you can see what I’m talking about as I say. soundsman4
