It’s with great pleasure I can announce our latest free sound effects contributor, Adam A Johnson. Adam has come onboard with some of his large collection of sounds recorded over many years and in many locations around the world. Adam is a well known figure in the sound design industry having been active since the early 2000s’ working with leading figures and some of the best libraries online.
It’s a huge privilege to be able to host Adam’s sounds and they are a fantastic addition to the library. There are some gems that we’ve been missing for a while and some great alternatives to sounds we already have, but just needed some different perspectives.
I think we had around 4 golf sound effects until Adam’s contribution. Now we’ve many more for you to download and use. These include gold club swings and ball hits with a variety of different clubs, swing speeds, balls dropping into green holes and even golf flags.
This is one category we’re really pleased to add a bit more variety to.
Hand Tools & Power Tools
The collection brings many new tool sfx too, from hammering, sawing (handsaws & hacksaws) and many more hand tool soundfx. There are also fantastic power tool sounds including chainsaws and wood chippers.
We’re only in to the first few hundred of this collection (we are still uploading) and there are already lots of great construction effects. We’re looking forward to adding more over the coming weeks.
There is a great range of human effects that will be uploaded soon, but a few have already been added have and are proving popular. From voices and expressions to audience reactions (clapping, laughter etc), there is a fantastic range that’ll be highly useful for your projects!
Adam has an extensive range of sound design elements that will be greatly received by many of you. There is everything from production elements to general hits and weird noises. Also included are some synthesised drones and horror sounds. In fact, I think we’ll probably have some of these uploaded tomorrow, so watch this space.
From planes and trains to trucks and boats, the collection boasts a wide variety of vehicles, including industrial and military. There are a mixture of internal and external variations on many of them which will be useful. Expect to see lots more of these added over the next few weeks.
That’s just a small breakdown of a few of the sounds we’ll be adding, or have added so far. So if you want to check out the sounds and keep up to date as we add more, check out Adam’s profile here.
